Turtles, Flowers, Birds Oh My!

Turtles, turtles, turtles....
One of my favorite animals. The turtle above is a painted turtle, the state turtle i belive. Were i live we have tons of them. Living in a generally swampy area at any given time during a sunny day you can see 5-14 of the painted turtles on a log. The turtle below is a Blandings turtle (by another painted turtle). It is the first time i have seen a blandings turtle, they are very beautifle with a yellow belly and throat.

These photos were taken at a wild flower sanctuary. Above is a Trillium, the state flower. In one praticular area there was so many of them. I'm not sure what the flower below is, there was only a few of them. Both these pictures were taken by a small creek.

Tree Swallows, undoubtably one of my favorite birds to photograph. The shot above was pure luck, i was just takeing a picture of the one sitting on top of the bird box and then the others flew in. If you have ever seen a tree swallow the first thing you will notice is they fly very, very fast. The arial shot below took about 7-10 times to get a good one.

Wild Flowers and Turkeys

Well, for the past three weeks when i have gone out to the nature center to look at my bird boxes i have seen a group of 12-15 turkeys. A few of the turkeys have started to nest. Im seeing turkey chick photos in my future...
Also the wild flowers are starting to bloom! Horray.
